Leads implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide system tools and ensures scalability. Implements and maintains formal operating procedures to mitigate risk. Responsibilities

Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients, and recommend technical solutions for purchase. Identify opportunities to improve information technology infrastructure and utilize emerging technologies to satisfy university business needs. Work with stakeholders and relevant university offices to investigate technology solutions and select architectures that best meet the specified business needs. Determine gaps between current and target architecture and develop plans for transitioning to target architecture. Plan and manage the planning and business processes necessary to obtain project approval for implementation. Operate technology infrastructure to support the University’s academic and administrative functions; define, document and maintain information technology infrastructure to meet the university’s needs. Provide technical guidance, support, and coordination for infrastructure technologies to IT project teams and other designated university offices; communicate capabilities and limitations of the technologies. Carry out project management for implementation of new or enhanced infrastructure technologies: plan installations, define scope and deliverables, coordinate activities, manage resources, take corrective actions, and communicate with stakeholders; ensure documentation is written and maintained. Assist in ensuring continuous availability of the university’s network, communications and server infrastructure; develop and implement operational procedures; manage change control processes; apply information security policies; monitor health, security, and performance; take decisive action to avert impact on end users. Develop, implement and regularly test disaster recovery provisions; back up mission-critical information and ensure readiness in crisis scenarios; test preventive measures and recovery mechanisms regularly. Assist in managing staff and ensure alignment of goals and priorities; supervise and develop Subordinates; recruit and evaluate staff as needed. Qualifications

Education: Required Bachelor’s Degree. Experience: 5 years in IT infrastructure; 3 years in a supervisory role; experience managing major technology implementation projects in large, multi-user environments. Technical Skills & Certifications: Broad knowledge of IT principles, information security, networking, virtualization, storage systems, backup, scripting, and project management. Desirable: Cisco/Meraki networking equipment; Dell servers, VMware or Hyper-V; NetApp storage, AWS/Azure cloud, Google Apps/Office 365; Windows Server 2022+, Linux (RHEL), scripting (PowerShell). Preferred certifications: Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, VMware VCAP/VCDX, PMP, ITIL. Additional Skills: Strong decision-making, business acumen, planning, strategic thinking, analytics, leadership, communication, and up-to-date tech awareness. Employment details
