Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in partnership with the North Carolina Children’s Hospital, is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to support the Division’s clinical and academic missions. This position is open rank, variable track, 1.0 FTE, with rank and responsibilities commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

North Carolina Children’s Hospital is a top-tier academic medical center, with a mission to align clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The Hospital is ranked among the best children’s hospitals by US News and World Report, and the Division is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.

The faculty member will report directly to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and will join a well-established team of medical professionals, including board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, a nurse practitioner, a clinical pharmacist, pediatric endocrinology fellows, pediatric residents, Certified Diabetes Educators, nutritionists, and nurses. Together, the team provides comprehensive care for children with endocrine and diabetes-related conditions.

Clinical responsibilities will include both inpatient and outpatient care of children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders. Outpatient clinics are located at UNC Children’s Specialty clinics in Chapel Hill, NC and Raleigh, NC, with regional care responsibilities as needed. In addition, faculty are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and medical education.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

The successful candidate will be MD or MD/PhD educated and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
