Overview
Psychiatrist 1 and 2 (NY HELPS), Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, Part-Time or Full Time, P26906 — an opportunity at the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). Positions are for Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (CPC) inpatient units. Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists are sought to serve as the Clinical Leads of multidisciplinary treatment teams. The role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered, and recovery-focused treatments to adults (18 years and older) with mental illness. Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions Create treatment plans including medication management Obtain and review laboratory tests and consult with treatment-team members as needed Provide individual and group psychotherapy Supervise Psychiatric Residents and Fellows Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatrist 1:
License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. Psychiatrist 2:
License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN. Candidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have a NYS license/registration and ABPN certification. Candidates from within State Service may be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Psychiatrists at OMH facilities are eligible for the Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program offering up to $120,000 Supplemental income up to 50% of salary by volunteering to provide evening, night, and weekend coverage Defense and Indemnification Protection — broader in scope than typical medical malpractice coverage OMH-sponsored Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program All OMH employees receive a benefits package including opportunities for advancement and professional growth, generous paid time off, NYS medical/dental/vision insurance, and NYS retirement programs (Pension and Deferred Compensation). Background checks will be required. Salary is based on full-time employment: PSYCHIATRIST 1: $256,651; PSYCHIATRIST 2: $269,202. This position is eligible for a Downstate adjustment of $4,000.
