7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Need Analysis:

30-40 shifts per month

Pediatric Emergency Department

466 Total Hospital Beds

13 Pediatric ED Beds

26 ICU Beds (8 Pediatric ICU Beds)

Temp Privileges Available for Eligible Providers

Credentialing Timeline: 60 Days

Level of Support:

1 MD per shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

1 MD Night Shift Coverage: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Sun-Tues) | 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Wed-Sat)

1-2 APCs Per Shift: 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM (7 Days a Week)

Provider Requirements:

Certification:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (ABEM-PEM) or Emergency Medicine (ABEM)

Licensure:

Active & Unrestricted VA State License & DEA

Required Certifications:

ATLS Required

ACLS Required if not dual boarded in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine

PALS Required if not dual boarded in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Clinical Responsibilities:

Procedures Required:

Full Pediatric Emergency Medicine Procedures, including

sedation, sutures, intubation

Code Response:

Yes, neonatal only

ICU Details:

Open ICU with intensivists on staff

Subspecialty Backup Available:

Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric GI, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric ID, Pediatric Neurology, Ophthalmology

Limited Support for Pediatric Neurosurgery, Urology, or Heme/Onc
