Overview
Ocean Wise, a fund of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), is seeking a
Vice President of Philanthropy & External Relations . The role is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and holds overall responsibility for Ocean Wise’s fundraising strategy and revenue generation. The position will advance Ocean Wise’s mission by securing philanthropic partnerships, driving revenue growth, elevating the brand, and overseeing integrated communications. You will lead two high-performing teams to deliver compelling campaigns, build donor and partner relationships, and position Ocean Wise as a global leader in ocean conservation. Location and compensation Remote role with preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area or Greater Boston Area. Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr – $170,000.00/yr. Other pay ranges may apply as determined by EIF. This range is provided by EIF; actual pay depends on skills and experience. Eligible for equity, bonuses, or other compensation per EIF policy (as applicable). {{Salary range may be adjusted}}. Responsibilities
Craft, execute, and optimize Ocean Wise’s global fundraising, marketing, and communications strategies to increase year-over-year fundraising revenue and strengthen brand identity. Develop a marketing/public relations strategy to cultivate relationships with targeted external audiences, including media, influencers, and high-level donors. Collaborate with program leads to align impact messaging with funding opportunities. Serve as strategic advisor to the CEO on brand positioning, revenue development, and external affairs. Foster creativity and continuous improvement, maintaining visibility across the organization and community. Ensure adherence to operating policies and integrity standards. Build and execute a diversified fundraising strategy to grow unrestricted and programmatic revenue from HNWIs, foundations, corporates, governments, and individual donors. Oversee donor databases, events, campaigns, and development infrastructure at a high level; personally steward major donors and close six- and seven-figure gifts and partnerships. Implement innovative initiatives to garner public interest and support; strategize partnerships with corporations and foundations aligned with the mission. Manage large-scale campaigns and donor recognition programs as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, administration, or communications/marketing from an accredited institution. 10–15 years of experience leading fundraising capacity, with success in large gifts and corporate partnerships. 10–15 years of experience crafting and executing marketing campaigns and communications strategies across mediums. Senior leadership experience managing high-performing teams, objectives, and budgets. Strong understanding of brand building, digital strategy, and public engagement in a global context. Proven ability to build relationships with high-level partners, donors, and media. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling stories. Strategic, results-oriented mindset; ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience a plus. Passion for global conservation is a plus. Experience in building relationships with high-level donors and media. Excellent storytelling and communication skills. Strategic, results-oriented mindset; strong project management skills. Business acumen; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus. Interest in global conservation is a plus. Physical requirements
Travel approximately 15%; ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer. Frequent keyboarding; operate standard office equipment; lift/carry up to 10 pounds. Salary range:
