About the Company
Our client is an expanding mid-to-high-end bar and restaurant group with multiple locations across the West Coast and Central US. With strong growth momentum and plans to go to market within the next 36+ months, the company is seeking a strategic financial leader to help drive its next phase of expansion and lead the organization through a successful transaction.
Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of financial strategy, planning, and execution. This role is ideally suited for an experienced finance leader who has previously guided a multi-unit consumer, retail, or restaurant concept through a liquidity event or sale.
The CFO will be responsible not only for transaction readiness but also for ensuring ongoing operational excellence, scaling financial systems, and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders including investors, banks, and strategic buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Leadership:
Drive financial readiness and execution for an anticipated sale/exit including preparation of financial models, due diligence, and negotiation support.
Strategic Finance:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth, profitability, and expansion of new locations.
Investor & Capital Partner Relations:
Act as a key interface with current and prospective investors, lenders, and other capital partners.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Lead forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning to inform executive decision-making.
Operational Finance:
Oversee accounting, reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls to ensure scalable, efficient operations.
Executive Leadership:
Partner with the CEO and leadership team in shaping strategic direction, growth opportunities, and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
Prior experience as a CFO or senior finance executive within a multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality company.
Ideally has a successful track record of leading a company through a sale, IPO, or other liquidity transaction.
Strong financial modeling, M&A, and deal execution expertise.
Private equity experience is a plus: either working within a PE-backed portfolio company or in partnership with PE investors — is a strong plus.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage relationships with investors, buyers, banks, and other stakeholders.
Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to scale systems, processes, and teams in a fast-moving environment.
CPA required.
MBA is a plus. Advanced financial/strategic expertise preferred.
