The Microchip Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) development team is seeking an experienced New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Project Manager. The FTS systems group produces network timing equipment such as PTP Grandmasters and NTP servers. The primary role is to manage the engineering development, prototyping, and final production release of a new product. You will define the overall schedule, develop the project budget, and work with a multi-disciplined group of engineers and technicians. You will also interact with the Operations Team to transition a product from development to production. You will participate in all aspects of the design cycle, collaborating with HW/SW/Marketing/Test/Manufacturing teams, planning, high-level specification, design reviews, documentation, validation, hardware bring-up/testing, and sustaining activities for existing products. The ideal candidate has an engineering development background with experience coordinating with operations and vendors and a strong ability to solve technical problems and manage projects. Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the multi-functional NPI team through all phases of the product development lifecycle, ensuring on-time, on-scope, and on-budget delivery. Collaborate with hardware, software, marketing, test, and manufacturing teams from planning through detailed design and documentation review. Oversee simulation, verification, and validation activities to ensure design integrity. Participate in hardware bring-up and testing with Test Engineers to develop and execute comprehensive product test plans. Ensure effective transition from development to production by serving as the primary engineering liaison with Operations. Develop and manage schedules and budgets for all prototype and pilot builds. Provide key deliverables, updates, and status reports to the broader Operations team. Partner with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) buyers on material planning and procurement. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop and implement factory readiness plans. Work with the Supply Chain team to develop and refine production costing estimates. Support ongoing product sustaining activities, driving continuous improvement and issue resolution for released products. Qualifications

12.5+ years of experience in the electronics industry. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated project management leadership with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation abilities. Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to drive tasks to timely completion. In-depth knowledge of product development through a structured cycle. Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM) structures and release management. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviations, and related processes. General knowledge of production build environments, including PCBA, cables, sheet metal, and related manufacturing processes. Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications

Range is dependent on location, skills, and experience. Total compensation includes base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonuses, plus benefits such as health coverage, retirement savings plans, and an industry-leading ESPP program with a 2-year look-back feature.
