Job Description Summary This position reports to the Regional Business Manager and supports the Specimen Management business unit. This role observes current clinical practice and recommends Best Practice process optimization in all aspects of clinical laboratory and nursing processes. This service provides clinical effectiveness and enhanced hospital operations. This is a field-based position with most of the time being spent face to face interacting with BD customers. Excellent time management skills necessary, with travel up to 75%.

About the role: BD Life Sciences - Integrated Diagnostic Systems

is an industry pioneer and leader in evacuated blood collection systems and pre-analytical improvement processes. Under the BD Vacutainer Brand, this unit provides specimen management and patient safety systems to hospitals and reference labs for patient identification and point-of-care data capture.

Candidates in the Sacramento or Bay Area location are preferred.

Key responsibilities

Fosters a continually evolving partnership between Specimen Management and our valued customers in a Clinical Process advisory capacity

Maintain knowledge and expertise as product specialist for Specimen Management as product and guidelines evolve

Clinical resource specialist engaging with key opinion leaders within the account identifying critical areas for improvement

Drives clear project goals and expectations to achieve process efficiency and department effectiveness goals

Proactively ensures optimal workflow and product utilization

Facilitates project process using best practices and financial analysis to help achieve customer identified outcomes

Interview stakeholders, process owners in support of process improvement recommendations

Leads and partners in change management activities associated with process improvement recommendations

Engages stakeholders to obtain support and buy into process recommendations

Deliver presentations and report to various audiences: Nursing, Laboratory, Infection Prevention, Occupational Health, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Senior Hospital Management

Continues ongoing collaborations to ensure continuous improvement stemming from projects

Excellent time management skills necessary, with travel up to 75%

Education and Experience required:

Education in Life Sciences preferred with BS or BA required. MT ASCP, BSN or MSN, LEAN Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire

Strong financial and analytical skill and applications to selling tools

Effective communication, and presentation skills; Basic knowledge of Hospital and Laboratory IT (LIS data)

Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience and demonstrated consistent success in process improvement, best practices, and change management within the Medical Device/IVD industries

Sales and/or marketing experience in Medical Device/IVD industries

Duties require ability to integrate projects within BDX Sales Organizations and Marketing Departments

Knowledge and Skills Customer Centricity:

Strong knowledge of health care trends; Customer focused problem solving; Strong customer rapport with Key Opinion Leaders.

Technical Expert:

LEAN Certification preferential; Regarded as a Clinical Expert with Standard of Care Expertise; Proven analytical skills which include problem solving, qualitative reasoning and hypothetical driven consulting approaches.

Strategic:

Ability to Navigate the C-Suite with aid of Strategic Customer Group; Identify unmet Standards of Care; Total consideration to all business opportunities.

Execution:

Decipher analytics providing valuable outcomes; Gain commitment for sustainable projects being accountable/responsible for total customer engagement; Responsible for ongoing customer satisfaction.

Communicator:

C-Suite negotiation with customer commitment to behavioral change; Ability to set clear expectations being the facilitation expert; Collaborate among multiple teams with a high standard of Emotional Intelligence; Ability to read, comprehend, and compose detailed instructions, business correspondence and memos; Ability to effectively present information.

Salary Range Information

$114,500.00 - $189,100.00 USD Annual
