Additional Job Description West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek Gastroenterologists (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). Successful candidates will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV and Fairmont, WV.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will practice in the areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and eligible for state medical license

Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program and gastroenterology fellowship

Board eligible or board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology

All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment

About the Program and Facilities Our GI and Hepatology service line offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a medically diverse population, and provides exposure to clinically challenging cases. We have a new and expanding endoscopy center with state-of-the-art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, as well as close access to adjacent specialty clinics. Tremendous institutional support for academic pursuits pertaining to chronic viral hepatitis and inflammatory bowel disease is available. We offer treatment to those in West Virginia as well as patients from five border states. The growing Section of Digestive Diseases offers opportunities to build and design programs within a large referral academic center.
