As the Director, Compensation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the compensation strategy for a diverse portfolio of businesses within Corporate and Direct to Consumer (DTC). This position is crucial in ensuring that our compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company's strategic business objectives and talent management strategies. This position requires a strategic leader who is accountable and can influence others internally and externally, including senior leaders.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement comprehensive compensation strategies and plans that align with Disney's overall business objectives.

Lead and manage a team of compensation professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Analyze market trends and data to ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.

Collaborate with senior leaders to influence and drive compensation decisions that support business goals.

Leverage a strong analytic skillset to the HR function, supporting and enabling the use of analytics and data-driven decision making throughout HR.

Oversee the administration of compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to compensation.

Communicate compensation strategies and programs to stakeholders, ensuring understanding and alignment.

Collaborate with compensation professionals across the enterprise. Participate in ad hoc cross-segment and cross-functional initiatives.

Bring a mindset of continuous improvement. Evaluate and improve compensation processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Skillset and Qualification Required

Master consulting skills and proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders

A strong sense of curiosity

Extensive experience in compensation strategy development and execution

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in compensation analysis and market data interpretation

Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations related to compensation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strategic thinking and ability to align compensation programs with business objectives

High level of accountability and integrity

Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Experience in a large, complex organization

Consulting or other business- or HR-functional experience preferred

Experience with global compensation programs

Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

7+ years of progressively responsible experience in a compensation or related field

Education

Bachelor's Degree required

Preference to degree in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or similar field

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $200,600 to $245,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
