Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Infectious Diseases physician to join the Division of Infectious Diseases/Department of Internal Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview

The Division of Infectious Diseases is recruiting an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in general ID and HIV. This position will provide inpatient infectious diseases consultative services within the Medical Center on Main Campus and OSU East Hospital. The physician will also be expected to maintain an ambulatory longitudinal care clinic. Opportunities exist for coverage of service lines including a dedicated solid organ transplant service, Telehealth, and community hospital consultation. The division operates a robust Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) program (approximately 2,200 patients seen last year). The physician will participate in training Infectious Diseases fellows, housestaff, medical students, advanced practice providers, and other allied professionals. The physician is expected to participate in scholarly activities such as clinical research and quality improvement projects. Interest/expertise in general ID, HIV, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and hospital epidemiology are desired. Duties And Responsibilities

This is an academic position on the clinical track that emphasizes diagnosis and treatment of general infectious diseases. Respond to consultation requests; determine, prescribe, and implement treatment plans and/or required medications. Provide instructional training to fellows, housestaff, medical students and ancillary staff. Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. Requirements

MD, DO or equivalent Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to work independently Excellent written and oral communications skills How To Apply
