Summit Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) is one of Ohio’s state-operated psychiatric hospitals, serving the community as part of the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS). Located in Cincinnati, SBH provides comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. SBH delivers evidence-based treatment through a multidisciplinary team and emphasizes trauma-informed care, person-centered recovery, and collaborative partnerships with local boards and community providers. As a safety-net provider, SBH also serves court-referred individuals through forensic services, ensuring access to quality care while maintaining community safety. Lead Hospital Operations – Oversee the administration of a state-operated psychiatric hospital serving clients with complex mental health needs. Shape the Future of Mental Health Care – Develop, implement, and evaluate a unified mental health delivery system aligning with OhioMHAS policy and community needs. Build & Support Teams – Supervise top-level leaders (physician administrator, nursing director, business administrator, program directors) and ensure accountability across all departments. Drive Quality & Compliance – Maintain accreditation standards (The Joint Commission, Medicaid, Medicare) and ensure services meet regulatory and professional benchmarks. Strengthen Community Partnerships – Collaborate with community mental health boards, Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services Boards, and local agencies to deliver integrated hospital and community services. Oversee Budget & Growth – Develop and manage multimillion-dollar budgets, approve facility projects (renovations, expansions, capital planning), and ensure fiscal responsibility. Represent & Advocate – Serve as the face of the facility, building trust with staff, unions, community partners, law enforcement, families, and the public. Lead Through Challenge – Provide steady leadership during crises (emergency codes, outages, public health events), ensuring continuity of care and staff safety. Minimum Qualifications Completion of undergraduate core program in human services or health services related management; 4 yrs. of supervisory experience in behavioral healthcare; 2 yrs. in budget management; 1 yr. in public relations.
