Overview
Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Hospitalist physician in Greensboro, NC, paying $180/hour - $185/hour. This is a temporary assignment intended to address staffing needs. Responsibilities
Oversee the care of hospitalized patients, from admission through diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning. Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Coordinate with specialists to manage complex cases and provide comprehensive care. Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR). Conduct daily rounds to assess patient progress, update treatment plans and address new concerns. Perform procedures such as intubations and central lines at facilities that do not have a designated critical care physician on site. Communicate with patients and families to explain diagnoses and treatment plans, and to answer questions. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate medical intervention. Collaborate with case managers and social workers to develop safe and effective discharge plans. Qualifications
Minimum Education : Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Residency : Internal medicine or family medicine residency accredited by ACGME or AOA. License & Certifications : Board certification in internal or family medicine by ABIM or AOBIM; active and unrestricted NC medical license; current ACLS. Experience : Typically at least one year of clinical hospitalist experience is preferred. Skills : Strong internal medicine knowledge, decisive in emergencies, excellent communication, ability to manage large patient loads, team collaboration, and adaptability to new environments.
