Healthcare Partners Investments (HPI) delivers quality healthcare through strategic physician and health system partnerships. HPI owns and operates hospital campuses in Oklahoma City and provides management services to affiliated clinics. The CEO of HPI is responsible for the overall leadership of the MSO and surgical hospitals, directing operations, staff, and processes to efficiently provide surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial performance. Position Summary

In collaboration with the governing board, CEO of the hospitals, and HPI’s executive leadership team, the CEO of HPI directs, coordinates, and controls all operating functions, processes, and staff of the MSO and surgical hospitals. The goal is to deliver high-quality surgical services while optimizing clinical and financial operations. Functional Expectations & Requirements

Executive oversight for the strategic direction of the hospital facilities and MSO. Serve as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, departments of the MSO and facilities. Report pertinent activities concerning the MSO and facilities to the Governing Board at regular intervals. Appoint a successor for the MSO and facilities in the absence of the CEO. Plan services provided by the MSO and facilities and oversee operations. Overall management of the Partnership as outlined in the applicable agreement. Lead discussion during Monthly Operations Review with USPI’s Home Office Business Operations team. Deploy and monitor USPI’s Edge as part of the facility’s operational processes within the QPI program. Ensure compliance with USPI’s policies and internal controls. Develop, monitor, and control staffing, operating budget, and capital budget. Develop and monitor the purchasing plan to stay within budget and comply with group purchasing initiatives. Ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Negotiate and manage external contracts (physicians, services, maintenance, purchasing). Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards. Foster positive cross-department relationships and liaise between USPI Home Office and facility staff. Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policy and procedure manuals. Closely monitor financial performance to avoid cash flow problems. Personnel Administration

Hold monthly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities. Manage exempt and non-exempt employees per facility policies. Review employee performance and ensure annual evaluations where applicable. Review and approve disciplinary actions and terminations as needed. Evaluate management performance and other staff as designated. Approve additions or deletions of positions and applicants for employment. Develop productivity analyses and ensure staffing aligns with surgical case volume. Implement orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation for all employees. Manage employee files and records; provide professional development opportunities. Promote positive customer relations among employees and physicians. Clinical Services

Ensure surgical programs and clinical services comply with regulatory and accrediting standards. Work with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and develop services. Manage clinical departments (nursing, central supply, medical records, housekeeping) and supervise contracted services (lab, radiology, pharma, laundry, biomedical). Monitor surgical and patient care equipment functioning and repairs through contracted services. Marketing and Planning

Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan and lead the facility’s sales team in line with USPI plans. Identify and develop new services appropriate for surgical hospitals. Foster positive public relations. Quality Improvement

Develop and promote continuous quality improvement programs. Administer infection control and medical staff reviews of quality improvement. Identify and correct quality care issues; develop statistical indicators to evaluate operations and care. Serve as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee. Medical Staff Relationships

Process credentialing of practitioners; collaborate with Medical Director on bylaws and regulations. Promote positive relationships between employees and practitioners; define physician and patient service needs. Physical Facilities

Ensure facilities are clean, professional, well maintained, and convey confidence to patients and staff. Identify and approve plant improvements; promote a safe, aesthetically appealing physical plant. Maintain appropriate records for emergencies, utilities, security, environment, and drills. Administrative Representation

Attend corporate administrative meetings representing the facilities. Act in accordance with USPI vision and policies; maintain professional association memberships. Stay current on healthcare changes and act in the corporation’s best interests. Personal Development and Professionalism

Identify areas for improvement through education or practicum. Attend mandatory in-services and meetings; follow USPI conduct and dress code. Maintain privacy and confidentiality; communicate effectively with stakeholders. Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; master’s degree strongly preferred. Hospital or Surgical Hospital management experience required. 10–15 years of progressive healthcare management experience; leadership in a complex urban setting; strong English communication skills. Ability to work well with physicians, employees, and patients. Governing Board may determine other qualifications as seen fit.
