Overview
Commercial Lending Management – General Industries Underwriter, Assistant Vice President at Citi. The CLM function supports end-to-end credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring for Citi’s Commercial Bank in NAM, focusing on delivering lending solutions across multiple industries with a risk-focused approach. Responsibilities
Facilitate the end-to-end lending process for assigned relationships and portfolio within NAM CCB. Develop knowledge of the assigned portfolio and related industries; prepare well-supported analyses balancing risk and business objectives. Ensure appropriate regulatory classification and monitor minimizes net credit losses; identify emerging concerns for escalation. Produce underwriting analysis and workflow for new-to-bank and existing relationships, including pre-screening, amendments, extensions, annual reviews, and related diligence. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial memos to track covenant compliance; escalate concerns in partnership with stakeholders. Coordinate loan documentation for new transactions and amendments; ensure terms and conditions are reflected in closing documents. Attend periodic portfolio reviews and opportunities in partnership with Relationship Management. Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of credit products and services offered to CCB clients. Mentor and develop junior staff and support teams; contribute to strategic projects and credit formation initiatives. Identify and champion process improvements for efficiency and controls. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to move transactions forward while adhering to controls. Qualifications
3+ years of related experience in credit underwriting, portfolio and/or risk management with a multinational financial services organization. Knowledge of basic accounting and financial concepts as applied to credit underwriting. Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities. Learning agility; quickly applies new knowledge to new situations. Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation tools; strong data visualization skills. Bachelor’s degree; advanced degrees and certifications considered but not required.
