Compensation: $250,000 Base + $100,000 Bonus
Position Summary
A leading Wealth Management Company is seeking a highly experienced Trust & Estates attorney to join our Private Wealth Advisory team as Senior Counsel. In this strategic role, you will leverage your law firm/in-house background to provide education and guidance to financial advisors and their high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. You'll collaborate across the organization to deliver sophisticated estate planning and trust administration solutions. This position does not involve drafting legal documents or tracking billable hours.
Primary Responsibilities
Review and interpret existing estate plans, partnering with financial advisors to develop customized trust and estate strategies for high-net-worth clients.
Build and maintain relationships with independent corporate trustees to enhance trust administration processes.
Lead educational initiatives for financial advisors, including updates on legal developments and best practices in estate planning.
Support the development and implementation of a technology platform integrating advanced estate planning tools.
Foster relationships with external professionals, including attorneys and CPAs, to ensure seamless estate planning and trust asset transfers.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) with deep expertise in estate planning for high-net-worth individuals.
Minimum of 8 years' experience as a practicing attorney, including drafting and analyzing estate planning documents and strategies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
In-depth knowledge of trust administration, including directed trust models and jurisdictional laws in states such as South Dakota, Delaware, Nevada, and New Hampshire.
