Overview
Senior Database Administrator role supporting the nation’s critical intelligence programs. Design, deploy, and secure Oracle database solutions for U.S. intelligence operations. This is a full-time, in-person position primarily based in the Virginia/Washington DC region with occasional client-site visits. Responsibilities
Architect, implement, and maintain complex Oracle and cloud-based database solutions in highly secure, mission-critical environments. Partner with cloud infrastructure teams to deliver seamless database integration with intelligence applications and services. Safeguard sensitive data and ensure its availability, performance, and integrity at scale. Handle a wide range of technical challenges—from advanced data modeling to integration with big data platforms. Lead automation, upgrades, disaster recovery, troubleshooting, and database hardening to exceed security standards. What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
5+ years of relevant hands-on experience supporting U.S. Government or Intelligence Community enterprise systems. Deep understanding of data architecture, engineering, and the design/management of structured and unstructured data (including geospatial, JSON, XML, graph; modern formats like Parquet, Hudi, Iceberg, Delta Lake). Expertise with Oracle Database (v19c+ preferred), including RAC, Multitenant/CDB, Data Guard, Unified Auditing, RMAN, patching, hardening/STIG, ASM, troubleshooting. Experience integrating Oracle with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, or cloud-based data lakes). Proficient in SQL/PLSQL, Oracle Audit, and Linux (shell scripting preferred). Familiarity with multiple platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle DB Engineering). Bonus Points
Oracle Certified Associate/Professional or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification. Experience with advanced security features (Label Security, Data Vault, Key Vault). Exposure to Oracle GoldenGate and knowledge of SDLC and configuration management. What You’ll Need
BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s a plus or equivalent experience). Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph. Compensation & Benefits
US: Hiring range in USD from $87,000 to $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
