Intrepid College Prep is a network of free, college preparatory public charter schools located in Antioch, Tennessee. We educate scholars at two campuses: Opportunity Academy Middle School and Independence Academy High School. Our 5-12 model ensures that scholars have the opportunity to engage in a rigorous, college-preparatory education for eight years prior to their transition to college and the professional opportunities that follow. We are an open-enrollment school, which means that our scholars do not have to take an entrance test or pay tuition to enroll. Our Mission:

What You’ll Do

The Director of Special Populations is responsible for ensuring high-quality programming for all students receiving Exceptional Education (EE) and Multilingual Learner (MLL) services across the network. The Director manages compliance and reporting, supports instructional programming, and builds the capacity of leaders and teachers to meet the needs of all students. Duties And Responsibilities

Compliance & Program Oversight: Ensure organizational compliance with IDEA, Section 504, Title III, and state/district requirements. Serve as liaison with MNPS, TDOE, and external agencies for EE and MLL programs; Ensure school-based teams are maintaining accurate and timely IEPs, ILPs, progress monitoring, evaluations, and records for all students in EE and MLL. Instructional Leadership: Ensure high-quality, culturally responsive instruction for students with disabilities and multilingual learners; Provide direct coaching and professional development for teachers and leaders on effective strategies (e.g., co-teaching, accommodations, differentiation); Collaborate with school leaders and the academic team to embed EE and MLL practices into core instruction; Analyze student achievement and growth data to inform programming and interventions. Family & Community Engagement: Partner with families to foster understanding, advocacy, and involvement in Special Populations programming; Model best practices for family meeting facilitation, including IEP meetings, and ensure clear communication regarding services and progress. School & Network Collaboration: Serve as a key member of the network team, supporting organizational research, strategy, and implementation of best practices in action; Collaborate with leaders across campuses to align practices and ensure consistency in EE and MLL programming; Uphold the “two campuses, one school” mindset by modeling Intrepid’s mission, values, and culture across the organization. Qualifications

Holds a B.A./B.S. degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5; advanced degree in Special Education, ESL, or Administration strongly preferred Tennessee licensure in Exceptional Education, MLL, or related field, required Minimum 5 years of experience in Special Populations programming (teaching, case management, or leadership) Demonstrated ability to lead compliance, oversee multiple programs, and coach/mentor adults Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Title III regulations Spanish proficiency or experience working with bilingual students is preferred Commitment to Diversity

Compensation is highly competitive; teachers are eligible to participate in the MNPS Retirement System. We are committed to an equitable pay scale.
