TBI Subject Matter Expert (SME - PHYSICIAN CPCR)
to provide scientific, technical and programmatic support services to the identified program. The Physician is responsible for the treatment of patients during the progression of their disease and their participation in clinical research programs within established institutional policies and procedures, ensuring that all necessary steps are followed for safety and regulatory compliance, and for assuring accuracy of complex clinical documentation on patients' records, maintaining confidentiality. Specialty training in related-TBI fields (e.g., Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Neuro-Optometrist, Cognitive neuroscience, or related field) is strongly preferred. Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE)
in Silver Spring, MD. TBICoE is a branch of the Research Support Division in the Research and Engineering Directorate (R&E) of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). DHA is a Federal Program within the Department of Defense (DoD). TBICoE, previously known as DVBIC, has been congressionally mandated since 1992 and is a matrixed research, dissemination, and knowledge translation program, advancing warfighter brain health and readiness by advancing TBI science and clinical standards. TBICoE supports warfighter needs through subject matter experts embedded across DHA facilities with expertise in TBI clinical research investigations, surveillance, clinical tool development and training, cognitive monitoring and assessment, and dissemination of TBI tools, products, and education to DoD medical personnel, service members (including Guard, Reserve, and medics/corpsmen), veterans with TBI, and families/caregivers of the warfighter. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine, serving military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since 1983, HJF has connected the military medical community with federal and private partners to help researchers and clinicians achieve their goals. This position is contingent upon contract award.
