Overview
Global AV Group, headquartered in Hicksville, NY, is seeking an
AV & Low Voltage Installation Specialist
to help transform our clients’ visions into reality. In this role, you will install, configure/program, and maintain advanced AV technologies and appliances — including audio systems, speakers, amplifiers, lighting, TV monitors, and security solutions. You will ensure all work meets the highest quality standards, is performed safely, and exceeds client expectations. Responsibilities
Commercial & Residential Installations
System Setup:
Install and position AV systems, including wiring for speakers, amplifiers, displays, projectors, and microphones. Configuration & Programming:
Program audio processors, video processors, switchers, and control systems to project specifications. Quality Assurance:
Test and inspect installed systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly. Client Interaction:
Communicate with clients to confirm requirements, provide technical guidance, and obtain sign-offs when applicable. Training:
Educate end-users on system operation and maintenance, and present Global AV Group Monitoring Services where appropriate. Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
Safety Compliance
Follow all safety protocols to protect the team, client property, and equipment.
Continuous Learning
Stay current with emerging AV technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Qualifications
Education – Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related field. Experience – : 5+ years installing AV equipment (video panels, speakers, racks, microphones, cabling, network systems including Control & Dante). Strong understanding of complex wiring and IP networking. Skilled in AV system design, installation, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of audio processing, video conferencing, control systems, and multimedia tech. Experience with BSS (Audio Architect) and/or QSC (Q-SYS). Ability to read CAD drawings. Project coordination experience in a fast-paced environment. Basic IT principles knowledge. Technology – : Asana or Trello ProjX360 QSC Q-SYS Crestron Certifications – : OSHA 30 Q-SYS Level 1 & 2 BSS Audio Programmer (Audio Architect) Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle. Clean criminal record. Willingness to travel as needed (expenses paid). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot advanced issues. Comfortable working independently and making decisions that prioritize client satisfaction. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift 50–60 lbs., climb, and work in tight spaces.
