Overview Do you want to join an innovative team of scientists who use machine learning and statistical techniques to help Amazon provide the best customer experience by protecting Amazon customers from hackers and bad actors? You may be a great fit to join the Amazon Account Integrity team, building advanced algorithmic systems that manage the trust and safety of millions of customers each day and working with terabytes of data to solve real-world problems. The Account Integrity team protects customers from bad actors while balancing risk and customer trust. We evolve enforcement policies, iterate ML risk models, and exercise high-judgement decision-making where automation is not applicable.
Key responsibilities
Use statistical and machine learning techniques to create scalable risk management systems
Analyze large amounts of Amazon historical business data for specific risk instances and broader risk trends
Design, develop, and evaluate innovative models for risk management
Collaborate with software engineering teams to implement real-time models and create new features
Work with operations staff to optimize risk management operations
Establish scalable, automated processes for data analyses, model development, validation, and deployment
Provide regular, clear management reporting on business activity
Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Compensation: base pay ranges from $129,400/year to $212,800/year depending on market location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
