The purpose of this position is to support research within NIA-IRP including recording and cleaning data, data analysis, computer server maintenance, website maintenance and software development and installation. Responsibilities

Meet with lab members to present updates - Weekly Patch and update server software - Monthly Support and maintain scientific computer systems including hardware, operating systems, and associated services in a high-performance computing environment Provide systems analysis and bioinformatics support for large scale sequencing projects Perform algorithm development and implementation Perform statistical analysis of experimental data obtained at various time points Develop and test web applications Provide technical experience to perform analyses, processing and user support of computer systems using standard statistical procedures Provide statistical support to staff, including data analysis and tool generation for researchers Provide support and consultation in scientific computation, application development and computer modeling Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test and modify computer systems, programs and integrations Set up and use various computer systems and software packages Provide performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization across HPC architectures Provide software solutions across diverse scientific applications including large and complex multi-component resources Collaborate with staff to increase productivity/efficiency of data analysis using HPC Implement improvements to development activities to speed application, database, or tool development Determine IT needs and provide support for computerized systems Work with staff on evolving infrastructure, data engineering pipeline, and data science stacks Compile and manage data and assist with quality control Develop custom computer applications for collecting and analyzing data, including interfaces with hardware Perform troubleshooting and interpretation of results Utilize knowledge of data structures and programming languages Manage data formatting input and output Perform QA/QC; troubleshoot image analysis and quality issues Analyze results of data collected during studies and perform statistical analysis Drive collection of new data and refinement of existing data Produce reports, graphs and figures for presentation Prepare data and analysis for presentations and publications Present results graphically with appropriate language Prepare research data for presentations and manuscripts Interface with the statistical programming team to develop standards and assist with validation and change control documentation Enhance efficient presentation of information online and across digital platforms Train users in applying systems and analysis methods Plan, organize and coordinate IT training and orientation initiatives Support and train users in data analysis pipelines and research studies Conduct educational courses on basic scientific computing, data analysis scripts and pipelines Consult and collaborate with users to tailor tools to research needs Maintain system software, hardware and security configurations Support and maintain commercial software and freeware relevant to analyses and discovery Maintain and upgrade system software, hardware configurations and security as needed Deploy security measures to protect data integrity Maintain interface software between multiple computer environments Perform routine audits of tracking databases and packages Collaborate to increase productivity/efficiency of data analysis using HPC Develop new programs and systems as needed Qualifications
