ROLE SUMMARY: As a Director, the incumbent must communicate with, motivate, provide or coordinate training, and direct the work of subordinates. The position includes performance management, staffing decisions, and budget/resource oversight, under the direction of the DVR Chief of Field Services - DOE - SES. The role administers the State Vocational Rehabilitation Program at the Area level, supervises staff, and ensures program compliance with Federal and State rules. Responsibilities
Direct and supervise administrative and professional staff within the Area; develop work plans, conduct timely performance appraisals, and approve monthly attendance and leave. Recruit, select, supervise and train staff; coordinate policy, guidelines, and procedures to administer the State Vocational Rehabilitation Program at the Area level. Administer all aspects of the VR Program within the Area; ensure eligibility determinations and service delivery align with Federal and State rules; interpret laws, rules, and policies for staff; develop corrective action plans as needed. Plan and manage fiscal resources, including internal controls, equipment purchases, and reallocation of Area resources to maximize service delivery to eligible clients. Monitor casework standards and Area productivity; coordinate, negotiate, and analyze performance and quality of services; oversee staff training to ensure quality service. Promote community engagement; liaise with community organizations, other agencies, the media, and service providers; participate in workforce development boards and One-Stop Center partnerships. Perform Administrative Reviews as requested; ensure client rights are preserved in VR services. Required Qualifications & Skills
REQUIRED:
At least 5 years of supervisor experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of data collection/analysis methods and management information systems Ability to participate in meetings with executives from public, not-for-profit, and private sectors Plan and organize multiple functions in high-pressure environments Effective verbal and written communication Apply laws, regulations, and policies to perform quality assurance Recruit, hire, and supervise professional/management staff Research issues related to service delivery and customer complaints Prepare public correspondence for senior management Coordinate and conduct presentations; manage deadlines Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize work Application Information & Requirements
