Overview
The MRI Technologist will perform a wide variety of high quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) exams while providing excellent patient care. Sign on Bonus up to $30K for those that qualify. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Graduate of a formal education program accredited by ARRT or ARMRIT. Minimum Work Experience
2 years Clinical MR imaging experience in a hospital or out-patient environment (Preferred). Required Skills/Knowledge
Demonstrate appropriate patient care, technical, procedural and evaluation skills; perform a variety of procedures independently, consistently and effectively; operate imaging equipment and related components; correlate patient history with scanning protocols; knowledge of pediatric imaging protocols; knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy; professional communication skills; familiarity with contrast medications used for MR exams; some knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Required Licenses and Certifications
Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT) or ARRT certification (MR) or ARMRIT Certification (Required). Functional Accountabilities Clinical and Research Imaging Procedures Perform all exams efficiently, with the ability to adjust scan sequences to enhance images. Quality Control Verify exam requests with patient information; ensure exam images have correct patient data. Follow procedures for warm-up, phantom scanning and shutdown; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Check exam orders and charges; verify exams are loaded onto PACS. Respond to performance improvement feedback and track scanner data for ACR requirements. Patient Care Maintain scanner cleanliness and prepare exam rooms; greet patients and communicate exam procedures clearly; meet scheduled times and accommodate urgent requests; report patient service issues as needed; share on-call responsibilities. Clinic Safety Adhere to OSHA and ACR MR Safety guidelines; perform safety checks for implants and other devices; ensure Time Outs are conducted; address pregnancy status when applicable; report malfunctions; complete annual MR Safety training. Communication Lead daily huddles, collaborate with colleagues, review department updates, and report staffing issues to ensure safety and smooth operations. Professional Development Maintain R.T. (ARRT) and Post-Primary (MR) Certification; participate in seminars, QA initiatives, and performance improvement projects; provide modality leadership on patient care and new technology. Organizational Accountabilities Include accountability for customer needs, teamwork, performance improvement, cost management, safety, and proactive communication.
