Title: Executive Director, Global Payment Operations Location: Remote Key Areas of Responsibility
Platform Migrations & Systems Integration
Lead and manage full lifecycle of back-end and front-end payment platform migrations / integrations, both domestic and international.
Collaborate with vendors and internal project owners to build, maintain, and adjust comprehensive migration / integration plans aligned with business goals and timelines.
Coordinate all aspects of migration / integration execution, including data mapping, file transfers, pre/post cleanup, and end-to-end system testing.
Ensure all current back-end merchants and associated data elements are accurately and securely migrated / integrated.
Act as primary liaison between front-end and back-end vendors, managing their project teams to ensure seamless execution and performance.
Program & Operations Management
Develop and execute long-term operational strategies in support of enterprise objectives.
Oversee the design and delivery of business process improvements, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, cost, regulatory, risk, and performance standards.
Define and implement operational structure and workflows that support scalable, high-performance processing operations.
Partner with department heads to ensure all operational components of the Processing Ops are appropriately captured, resourced, and executed.
Maintain alignment across departments on product knowledge, system capabilities, and project timelines.
Leadership & Executive Engagement
Provide regular updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders on project status, risks, performance metrics, and strategic priorities.
Mentor and lead cross-functional teams with a focus on professional growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
Participate in strategic planning sessions, executive meetings, and decision-making forums regarding company direction, international expansion, and capital investments.
Play a key role in hiring, developing, and evaluating departmental leadership.
Performance Monitoring & Financial Oversight
Lead the development and management of operational budgets and P&L accountability.
Monitor team performance and operational KPIs to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Support strategic initiatives aimed at increasing market capitalization, improving client experience, and expanding international capabilities.
Communication & Documentation
Create and maintain detailed business requirement documents, functional designs, migration / integration scopes, and executive summaries.
Exhibit exceptional business and technical writing capabilities, with clear, grammatically accurate, and high-impact communication.
Requirements
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in payments or merchant services.
At least 4-5 years of direct experience in bankcard processing, settlement, or transaction lifecycle management.
Proven experience leading large-scale system migrations / integrations and complex technical projects.
Industry & Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of the end-to-end transaction lifecycle (authorization, clearing, funding, settlement).
Strong knowledge of front-end and back-end processors, card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, PayPal, Amex, Pin Debit), and interchange.
In-depth familiarity with industry standards, regulatory compliance, and card brand operating rules.
Proficiency in systems integrations, file transfer protocols, data mapping, and test validation.
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Leadership & Business Acumen
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
