Company Overview: Boomerang Ventures combines a venture studio and venture fund to provide capital and hands-on expertise to very early-stage life science start-ups to build them more quickly and effectively toward a fast, lucrative exit. First time founders needing business, technical and other expertise to form and build a new company are a good fit for the Studio. IMPower is a Boomerang Ventures portfolio company at the intersection of digital health, rehabilitation science, and fitness technology. Our mission is to develop and commercialize innovative, tech-enabled solutions that transform physical rehabilitation and performance training by integrating software, hardware, and real-time analytics. We aim to empower clinicians and patients through smarter tools that drive better health outcomes. Position Summary
As the CEO of IMPower, you will define and execute the company’s vision, lead strategic planning and execution, and build a high-performance culture. You will oversee all functions of the business, including product development, commercialization, fundraising, finance, and operations. This role requires a proven entrepreneur or executive leader with experience driving early-stage growth, ideally in healthcare, digital health, and/or exercise technology. You will report to the Board of Directors and work closely with Boomerang Venture Studio to meet milestones, leverage resources, and position the company for successful scaling and exit/IPO. Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute short- and long-term vision and strategy. Drive market penetration, commercialization, and sustainable growth. Business Execution:
Lead all core functions including product development, commercialization, finance, sales, and operations. Manage cash flow and prioritize capital allocation. Technology & Innovation:
Oversee development and integration of hardware and SaaS-based software solutions. Guide commercialization of digital health products and technologies in physical rehab and fitness markets. Team Leadership:
Recruit, build, and manage a high-performance, cross-functional team. Cultivate a collaborative, results-driven culture aligned with Boomerang Studio values. Customer & Market Engagement:
Acquire market intelligence, proactively engage customers, and guide the team to refine product-market fit through customer validation and adoption strategies. Fundraising & Investor Relations:
Develop and execute a compelling fundraising strategy. Build strong investor narratives, de-risking milestones, and manage relationships with VC, angel, and strategic investors. Regulatory & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to applicable regulations in healthcare, medical devices, and consumer health technology. Partnership Development:
Build strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, clinicians, researchers, and commercial stakeholders to expand reach and adoption. Execution Excellence:
Deliver on all Boomerang Studio deliverables and milestones including KPI tracking, stage-gate reviews, and business stack tools. Engage and manage outsourced resources as needed. Governance & Reporting:
Provide regular updates and KPI dashboards to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders. Target Profile / Qualifications
Proven leader with 10+ years of entrepreneurial or executive experience, ideally in digital health, cardio/rehab exercise equipment, or healthcare technology industries. Demonstrated success in growing companies from startup through scale to Exit/IPOs, with $10M+ fundraising achievements. Background in physical rehabilitation, sports performance, or exercise equipment is highly preferred. Hands-on experience commercializing deep-tech, AI-driven, or integrated software-hardware platforms in healthcare or fitness. Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams and cultures, while aligning to venture studio frameworks and tools. Adept at defining and de-risking early-stage business models and crafting compelling investor pitches with a strong strategic and financial foundation. Strong grasp of regulatory, clinical, and market access considerations across healthcare and life sciences. Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder who can navigate investor, partner, and internal relationships with transparency and respect. “A Player” mindset: high standards, bias for action, data-driven but comfortable with ambiguity; takes ownership and proactively solves problems. Deep network or strong ability to build one across the startup, healthcare, investment, and innovation ecosystems.
