Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements:
BHCC seeks full-time faculty who demonstrate a passion for teaching and a desire to join faculty and staff to expand and create new strategies for student success. Faculty must be experienced in teaching diverse adult learners as well as be adept in the assessment of learning outcomes and in the use of technology in and out of the classroom. Additionally, BHCC seeks faculty who value advising students and wish to contribute fully to the life of the College. Faculty may be assigned courses at one or more of the College\'s locations and asked to teach in-person and in the online environment. Position Description:
Responsible for the oversight and teaching of the Paralegal Curriculum (AS and Certificate), and, as Program Coordinator, responsible for the preparation of the Programs for ABA certification, student recruitment and advising. Specific Duties Provide academic leadership and administrative direction for Paralegal faculty and students within the Department of Legal Studies and Public Safety. Provide academic advising for all Paralegal students and organize and engage in recruitment activities for the Programs. Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students\' critical thinking skills. Assess student performance in the classroom using outcomes-based assessments. Lead the Programs\' application for ABA certification. Participate in determining appropriate goals and objectives of Paralegal courses and assist in developing course standards. Use new technologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate learning. Teach in learning communities and engage students in community service. Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and the classroom. Comply with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement. Support advisory board activities, including recruiting members, providing input on agenda topics, sharing program updates, and incorporating feedback from board members into curriculum and program development. Contribute to students\' professional development by encouraging participation in internships, and supporting placement efforts in coordination with the Career Services team. Requirements J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required. College level teaching experience in Paralegal Studies required; community college teaching experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with active and experiential learning preferred. Experience in using educational technology or other electronic resources in teaching preferred. Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language is preferred. Additional Information Salary: $68,392.00 - $73,685.00 Full Time Benefited Faculty position. (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
