Overview Senior Vice President of Finance (SVPF/CFO) opportunity at Heritage Christian Services (HCS). Located in Rochester, NY, United States. This role oversees all finance-related areas, leads the agency's finance team, and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership. The SVPF/CFO provides guidance on financial decisions, stewardship, and growth in alignment with GAAP and applicable laws. Job Responsibility THE OPPORTUNITY

EDI is partnering with Heritage Christian Services (HCS) in search of its SVPF/CFO. The incumbent will be a strategic leader responsible for finance operations and will lead the agency’s finance team into a future of growth and inclusive culture. The SVPF/CFO is a strategic partner on the senior leadership team, providing guidance, support, and consultation in financial decisions and stewardship. The role reports to the CEO and oversees all agency finances in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable laws. The position supports the mission, vision, and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

Pay for this position:

$192,090 - $256,064 / year. The salary will be set based on factors including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and training. The above range is Heritage Christian Services’ good-faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.

Responsibilities BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, develop, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization’s fiscal function and performance.

Serve as a strategic partner in the development of organizational plans and programs; assess and evaluate financial performance against long-term goals, budgets, and forecasts.

Ensure timely and accurate close of monthly financials, analyze budgets, financial reports, and trends to assist the President and CEO, the Board, and other senior leaders.

Evaluate the finance department structure and plan for continual improvement; provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Improve budgeting and Financial Planning and Analysis processes through education of financial managers and department managers.

Maintain effective internal controls and GAAP compliance, along with applicable regulatory laws for financial and tax reporting.

Oversee risk management, including corporate compliance.

Partner with IT and analytics to implement systems that provide critical financial and operational information.

Develop and review financial policies to improve organizational effectiveness.

Prepare materials and preside over Finance and Audit Committee meetings with the Board of Directors in coordination with the Board Treasurer.

Collaborate with the Board Treasurer and serve as the Board’s liaison with the Independent Auditor.

Safeguard assets and maximize cash management and investments.

Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds.

Represent the organization to banks, financial partners, institutions, public auditors, and other officials.

Serve as trustee on retirement plan monitoring, administration, and investment.

Enhance supplier diversity through procurement services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide oversight and support, supervise the Corporate Controller and ensure custody of all assets.

Supervise facilities, accounting, finance, payroll, and benefits functions.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred.

7-10 years of progressive financial management experience.

Ability to communicate financial information clearly and succinctly.

Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence.

Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with finance-related software systems.

Ability to interpret financial data to drive business decisions.
