We are seeking a Microscopy Builder/Mechanical Engineer to support our expansion microscopy efforts, focusing on developing and utilizing microscopy equipment to rapidly image expanded brain tissue. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience in the design and creation of microscopy instruments. This is a full-time, in-person position based in the Bay Area. Responsibilities
Operate microscopes to acquire high-resolution 3D images of biological samples. Design and build microscopes to acquire high-resolution 3D images of biological samples. Analyze and process microscopy data, ensuring high-quality results for downstream analysis. Troubleshoot imaging issues and perform routine maintenance on microscopy equipment. Collaborate closely with the research team to refine imaging protocols. Document experimental procedures, results, and analyses thoroughly. Skills And Qualifications
5+ years of experience with designing and building optical microscopy equipment, such as light sheet microscopes Strong understanding of image processing and analysis software as well as the ability to code Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment Key Projects
Collect large amounts of microscopy data. Develop pipelines to maximize imaging speed. Salary And Benefits
