Description of the role at Defined.ai: We leverage a global crowd to provide high-quality data for AI. Defined.ai focuses on improving Artificial Intelligence technologies through natural language processing, and seeks linguists to train new models. About the role We are looking for Senior Computational Linguists native/fluent in Dutch to work on a project with Meta. At Defined.ai, we make machines smarter for Fortune 500 companies. You would help develop and improve NLP/NLU systems by building data annotation pipelines, guidelines, and evaluation criteria. Start date Start date is as soon as possible. Location On site in Burlingame (SF) or Redmond/Seattle or New York. Responsibilities
Build test and evaluation training sets Evaluate and analyze product features Work on a rules engine and tweak engine outputs Triaging work and supporting multimodal features, chatbot experiences Assist in packing AI into glasses and related features The role involves developing and improving client NLP/NLU systems. Tasks may include but are not limited to: Annotating and reviewing linguistic data (part of speech tagging, semantic annotation, phonetic transcription) Data collection and analysis Labeling text for disambiguation and text normalization Evaluating system outputs, identifying errors and proposing solutions Translation and localization tasks Creating and evaluating training and test sets Native speaker in one target language and fluent in English Experience with Python scripting Knowledge of relational databases and SQL Experience in annotation work Knowledge of semantics, syntax, morphology or lexicography Excellent oral and written communication Attention to detail and good organizational skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Qualifications
Degree in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics, or computer science with a minor in linguistics Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and in-house tools About us
