As a Full-Time Shelter Veterinarian at Maui Humane Society, you will deliver high-quality medical care to shelter and public animals. Your responsibilities include overseeing health management for a diverse population (cats, dogs, rabbits, and more), performing an impressive average of 35-40 high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries daily, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, conducting soft tissue surgeries, and participating in dental procedures. You will collaborate with a team of three veterinarians and skilled support staff to develop and implement medical protocols and standard operating procedures. You will also engage with the community to alleviate suffering and improve animal health and quality of life. What we're looking for in a Shelter Veterinarian / Qualifications

Requirements include a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and the ability to obtain both a State of Hawaii Veterinary License and a DEA license. A solid background in small animal medicine and surgery, professional demeanor, and good customer service skills are essential. Proficiency with Google apps, internet use, and database-oriented software is necessary for maintaining medical records and communication. While a minimum of five years in the animal welfare field is preferred, experience in management is a plus. Familiarity with HQHVSN procedures is advantageous. Qualification Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Have or be able to obtain a State of Hawaii Veterinary License. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent. Have or be able to obtain a DEA license. Background in small animal medicine and surgery. Additional Qualifications that would benefit this position: 5 years or more experience in the animal welfare field. 5 years or more experience in management. HQHVSN experience preferred.
