The Medical Dosimetrist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Medicine. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed toward achievement of patient care outcomes through the integrated skills of all team members in the Department. The Medical Dosimetrist is familiar with geometric characteristics of radiation equipment and radioactive sources, has the training and expertise to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations under the direction of the radiation therapy physicist, and operates and performs quality assurance on the treatment planning computer. Measures and generates radiation dose distributions and performs dose calculations as a member of the treatment planning team. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Radiologic, Physical or Biologic Science or related field of study, or 2 years of relevant work experience. Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board Certification required within 2 years of hire. No medical dosimetry experience required if eligible to sit for Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board exam. Additional Information
