Assistant Athletics Director of Video Services & Digital Strategy – University of South Carolina Upstate, Spartanburg, SC. Posting: STA00627PO25. Location: USC Upstate, Spartanburg, SC. Full Time. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5pm; Some evenings and weekends as needed. The Assistant Athletics Director of Video Services and Digital Strategy is responsible for all video operations of the USC Upstate athletics department. The Assistant AD manages the broadcast services via livestreaming via ESPN. This role is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation for the athletics department\'s social media. Job Related Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor\'s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Valid driver\'s license. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in all aspects of broadcast and game day production is preferred. Experience in managing and training a significant student and part-time staff. Additional preferred experience includes video editing software, in particular Final Cut Pro, as well as graphic design software. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in video shooting, editing, and production software (e.g., Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects). Strong understanding of social media platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook). Knowledge and understanding of production equipment for professional-quality live broadcasts (NewTek Tricaster, 3Play, Ross Xpression, etc.) Knowledge and understanding of various broadcast cameras for quality ESPN+ productions. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, and excellent written & oral communication skills. Employee must be loyal to the university and the athletics department. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Employee will travel to out of town meetings and conferences as required or travel with teams as needed. Job Duties
Coordinate, create and implement multimedia content and game day production for video scoreboards at home men’s and women’s basketball games and volleyball matches. Essential Function: Yes. Percentage of Time: 20 Coordinate, create and implement multimedia content and game day production for video scoreboards at home men’s and women’s soccer games and softball games. Essential Function: Yes. Percentage of Time: 20 Oversee the production value/quality of the ESPN and Big South broadcasts for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. Create and produce graphic designs for use in social media, television, and in-venue videoboards as part of the athletic department’s creative graphic design staff, while providing daily oversight of student staff working in this area. Essential Function: Yes. Percentage of Time: 20 Oversee department digital strategy and calendaring of content for team and main accounts. Develop and executes digital strategy. Coordination with department communication and marketing efforts. Evaluation of impression and engagements to discern best practices for use of personnel and resources for future social content. Essential Function: Yes. Percentage of Time: 20 Oversee the production of highlight videos for use in various mediums including implementing on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, Athletics web site, Hall of Fame Banquet, and the annual Athletics Awards Banquet. Record and produce coaches’ shows periodically throughout the year for distribution through various online mediums, such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Essential Function: Yes. Percentage of Time: 10 Train and supervise student worker staff in conjunction with video operations. Essential Function: Yes.
