The Cal Athletics Fund is the fundraising and alumni relations arm of UC Berkeley's Intercollegiate Athletics Department. This role supports fundraising goals related to annual gifts and oversees identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual gift-level prospects, along with moderate-sized fundraising and alumni relations programs. The position reports to the Associate Athletics Director. Responsibilities

Cultivate, Solicit and Steward Annual Fund Donors: identify and manage a portfolio of at least 200 annual fund prospects; develop relationships with prospects and donors; design and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies; complete 10 to 15 substantive contacts per month with a focus on quality personal visits; provide stewardship for assigned prospects. Act as a liaison to specific sports to provide alumni relations services to designated friends' groups and constituents; design, organize, and implement targeted alumni events and board meetings to advance engagement. Provide programmatic support and assist in developing and executing mass solicitation strategies in support of annual initiatives for Cal Athletics, with a focus on growing the donor pipeline; ensure fundraising goals are met and analyze progress with stakeholders. Communicate with transactional donors attached to tickets to ensure requirements related to ticket/donation packages are met. Required Qualifications

Strong knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills; project management and problem-solving abilities. Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of fundraising, donor relations and public relations concepts and practices. Thorough understanding of location, campus vision, mission and related infrastructure. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen; ability to build relationships at all levels and with outside constituencies. Thorough project management skills and ability to meet fundraising goals and objectives. Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits

The university provides a compensation range and notes that offers are based on qualifications and internal equity. Budgeted annual salary range: $91,500–$95,000.
