Working Title: Psychiatry Provider - (CNS/DNP/NP/APN Psychiatry) Job Code: 9721MN - HC Pro 5 - Mental Health Nursing Time Commitment: 0.2 FTE (8 hours per week) Objective/Overview: Community University Health Care Center (CUHCC)'s mission is to seek health equity in our community by advancing the well-being of diverse people. The clinic is known for providing high quality care to diverse patients and is moving forward in improving timely access to care for patients. The psychiatry provider provides clinical psychiatric nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting. The position has independent responsibility and accountability in clinical decision- making, performing the duties of a Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Nurse Specialist. Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Psychiatry Program Manager. Type of Position: In-person
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Provide Patient Care at Nurse Practitioner (NP) level in psychiatry: 70%
Assess, diagnose patients utilizing specialized knowledge and skills, develops patient care plans based on defined area of clinical expertise, risk and overall patient care complexity.
Maintain daily productivity expectations as defined for an advanced practice nurse provider.
Identify desired patient outcomes, evaluate and monitor patient’s outcome and response to care, using current best practice guidelines and CUHCC clinical protocols in a cultural context.
Plan, implement and conduct patient/family education, as appropriate within the clinical encounter.
Documents Patient Care - 20%
Documents patient care in the electronic health record, communicating significant changes in patient status according to established clinic procedures and timelines.
Improves Efficiency and Effectiveness of Service Provided - 10%
Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service by participating as an active member of the patient care team in an integrated setting.
Qualifications All required qualifications must be included in the application materials
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree plus at least four years of experience as an RN or NP, or a terminal degree (DNP or PhD) plus at least one year of experience as an RN or NP.
Current licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of MN
Certified by The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or other recognized nursing certification body as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (aka PMHNP).
Compliance with the MN Board of Nursing's requirements to prescribe drugs and therapeutic devices, including active licensure to practice as an APRN and RN in the state of Minnesota.
Demonstrated competence in independent clinical practice which includes:
knowledge of assessment, planning, implementation and care coordination in psychiatry, knowledge of standards for care plan development, pharmacology and medication administration best practices, patient rights principles, infection control policies and practices, skill in diagnosing patient conditions and interpreting findings from examination and diagnostic tests, skill in performing invasive nursing procedures associated with the psychiatry.
Skill in use of electronic health records to document clinical care, and proficiency utilizing email and other software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Integrated Health Care Team experience.
Experience and training in Trauma Informed Care.
Experience in providing care in a multicultural practice setting.
Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, or Somali language.
Significant experience in inpatient or outpatient psychiatric nursing

Pay and Benefits Pay Range: The prorated salary range for a .20 FTE is between $22,358.20 - $25,600/annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
