seek a
Neurosurgeon
(ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Bridgeport, WV.
Responsibilities
Practice in the area of neurosurgery with a focus on general cranial, spine and peripheral nerve procedures.
Provide non-operative clinical care of patients with brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve disease.
Assist hospital leadership in organizing and delivering neurosurgically related health care to patients through nursing and ancillary staff.
Perform routine cervical and lumbar spine discectomy and fusion surgeries where appropriate.
Address basic uncomplicated brain tumors and neurosurgical cranial emergencies (cranial trauma, stroke, shunt malfunction).
Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical licensure.
Completed a neurosurgery residency program.
Board certified or eligible in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

The WVU Medicine Neurosurgery, Spine and Pain Center at United Hospital Center is focused on multidisciplinary treatment of spine disease with a dedicated group of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners skilled in interventional pain management, neurosurgery and physiatry.
Location Bridgeport, WV is a growing professional community in North Central West Virginia with access to mid-Atlantic and Midwest cities, top-ranked schools, and recreational opportunities.
