The RN Clinical Director is responsible and accountable for 24-hour operations within the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) located in PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital. The Clinical Director has direct oversight of patient experience, personnel management, fiscal resources, performance improvement, and interdepartmental coordination/collaboration. Ensures standards of care are met and maintains collegial relationships with providers and all disciplines; works with patients and families at the center of decisions. Works with the Vice President of Post-Acute Care Services to achieve strategic goals for Post-Acute Care Services. Collaborates with respective unit(s) with emphasis on superior performance and value-added strategies with a focus on customer/patient care. Leads by example. Organizational context: PIH Health is a nonprofit regional healthcare network serving approximately 3 million residents in Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Gabriel Valley. The network includes PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital, outpatient facilities, home healthcare and hospice services, and specialty services. Required Skills
Analytical skills, knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22 licensing requirements, CDC, and unit-specific nursing practice guidelines Ability to articulate the value and necessity of Post-Acute Care Services from both acute and long-term care perspectives Knowledge of county and state regulations regarding unit standards and operations Effective written and oral communications Problem-solving and organizational skills Knowledge of continuous quality improvement tools and Plan-Do-Check-Act methodologies Personal computer skills and familiarity with applicable software Knowledge of trends in nursing practice Clinical competence in unit-specific patient care, disease pathology, assessment, intervention, management, and education Ability to promote team building among multidisciplinary teams Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal Independent performer with leadership abilities focusing on self-direction/empowerment Ability to analyze various sources of outcome data Required Experience
Current California Registered Nurse license Current BLS Certification Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Minimum three (3) years of work experience in a healthcare facility Current California driver's license and valid auto insurance Preferred
Master of Science in Nursing or other postgraduate health science, business or management degree Minimum Two (2) Years Of Leadership Experience
