Work with multiple investment professionals such as CIOs, asset owners, board directors, etc., to understand client requests. Collaborate with client operational staff on discovery, problem resolution, workflow management, and related activities. Establish expectations, host discovery meetings, and guide clients through onboarding processes. Prioritize tasks based on urgency, timeline, workload, and impact. Provide daily operational support and oversight. Perform daily investment operations including valuations, transactions, fee entry, document management, and investment statements. Understand investment historical data and assist clients with data mapping between systems. Import and normalize large volumes of historical data from multiple systems. Reconcile transactions, market values, and investment positions across data sources. Establish, implement, and deliver training and system education for internal teams and clients. Create and implement procedures and processes with clear documentation. Handle complex activities with significant financial, client, and internal business impact. Occasionally interact with committees and/or senior management. Deliver work products that require minimal revision and facilitate stakeholder discussions to reach decisions. Analyze and evaluate portfolio performance to ensure data integrity. Knowledge
Excellent oral and written communication skills. In-depth functional/industry knowledge. Flexibility and adaptability to change. Core Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, VLOOKUP, etc.). Advanced data skills (Excel and macros). Basic investment concepts (IRR, time-weighted return, NAVs, accruals, etc.). Investment operations knowledge (hedge funds accounting, private equity, performance reporting, etc.). Alternative asset knowledge (hedge funds, private equity, non-marketable securities, marketable securities, derivatives). Understanding of alternative asset reporting, performance and liquidity measurement, capital calls, and fee reporting. Experience
A college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience. 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role. Experience in asset servicing with endowments, foundations, family offices, institutional asset managers, pension funds, or sovereign wealth funds. Salary Range
$55,200 - 88,400 USD Salary range is a good-faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & disability insurance, and other voluntary benefits.
