OUTCOMES Counselor will provide trauma-informed supportive services, education, and counseling to clients and their families, who desire assistance with their problems. Responsibilities

Provide each client with positive, professional and quality service; promote respect, dignity, and fairness to each client; make appropriate referrals to assist clients in reaching their maximum level of independence. Services are provided for individuals and families. Lead a variety of groups including educational, process, and support groups. Maintain client charts in an organized manner according to policy. Write and monitor client treatment plans with the client according to program policies. Arrange referrals for clients to outside private and public agencies as appropriate. Attend staff meetings and participate in staff committees as requested. Keep records and prepare statistical and other required reports within specified time requirements. Follow work schedules, which may vary and could include evening and weekend shifts; changes in shift assignments may be made according to program needs. All other duties as assigned. Education & Certification

Certified in the State of Illinois as a Certified Counselor. Must maintain certification status with IAODAPCA. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Two years of previous experience as a Counselor. Experience

Two years or more of experience working with children and/or adults in a classroom environment. Experience with a computer-based work environment and strong knowledge of Word. Competencies

Attention to detail, procedures, processes, and policies. Communication and management style that reflects Army values and fosters team relationships. Ability to manage projects, priorities, and programs in a dynamic environment. Provide individual and group counseling and assessment; work cooperatively with supervisor and other staff. Strong integrity and ability to handle confidential material. Ability to work with diversity in the workplace. Well organized with time management and ability to establish work/personal boundaries. Ability to work with clients with poor social skills, mental illness, or substance use problems. Position Limitations

This individual will accurately represent the mission of The RJKCCC, keep the Arts & Education Manager informed of all critical issues related to their area of responsibility, and adhere to all Army policies and procedures in carrying out responsibilities. Work Environment
