Reworld Waste About The Role Position Description: Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Standards at Reworld, the Material Processing Facilities (MPF) Standards Engineer will play a crucial role in leading the development, implementation and tracking of Reworld’s MPF technical compliance Program. This role will be critical in establishing uniform technical and operational practices, standardizing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) formats, and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to convert and create process documentation. Additionally, the engineer will provide ad-hoc mechanical engineering support as needed. This person must be self-motivated, proactive, with strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, driving initiatives forward and maintaining alignment with established standards and procedures across facilities and corporate functions. Travel: Due to the nature of this role, significant travel (up to 50%) to various sites will be required. Key Responsibilities MPF Standards Development & Implementation: Develop, maintain and continuously improve Reworld’s Material Processing Facilities Technical / Operational Standards; lead the implementation activities and tracking of MPF Technical / Operational Standards. Documentation Improvement: Establish and maintain an SOP format standardization process for the MPFs; collaborate with SMEs, corporate engineering managers, operations, and maintenance to convert technical knowledge into standardized process documentation; develop and maintain SOPs, Technical Service Bulletins for MPFs, and Technical Directives for MPFs. Audit And Compliance Tracking: Establish and implement processes to ensure ongoing compliance through audits and spot checks, provide feedback to stakeholders, identify areas for improvement, and track action items and resolutions from facility audits and compliance requests. Process Enhancement And Variance Management: Support digitization of O&M Standards; manage Corporate Variance Approval and Facility Change Notice processes; build and maintain an internal network of SMEs to facilitate input into Standards knowledge. Mechanical Engineering Support: Provide technical guidance and mechanical engineering support for ad-hoc projects and operational challenges; assist in troubleshooting and optimizing facility operations. Other: Maintain alignment with corporate standards and ensure documentation is user-friendly and accessible. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Minimum of 5 years in engineering, operations, or technical standards development, preferably in material processing or manufacturing environments. Proven ability to convert complex technical concepts into standardized, user-friendly documentation. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to lead discussions among diverse stakeholders. Experience in leading compliance programs, technical audits, and documentation standardization initiatives. Familiarity with material processing facilities and their operational needs is highly preferred. Experience with equipment used in Material Processing Facilities (e.g., shredders, conveyors, compressors, pumps) is preferred. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Key Competencies Collaborative mindset and ability to foster cross-functional relationships.
