Overview The Director, Marketing and Communications is accountable for the development and direction of media strategies and communications plans to ensure all communications are fully aligned with the strategic positioning of the organization. He/She is actively engaged with the vice president, marketing and communications and the company's executive vice president in the planning and execution of the organization\'s comprehensive communications and marketing strategy. He/She supports strategic planning, execution and content management for NIB\'s corporate meetings and conferences including two large national events.

Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Direct and manage the performance of the Program Director, Communications, and Branding and Packaging Manager; oversee outside public relations firms, podcast and video production companies, websites, social media agencies, freelance writers, and other communications/marketing consultants.

Contribute to onboarding and management of marketing and advertising agencies as needed.

Provide oversight, strategic direction, and messaging for corporate communications programs and written communications, including electronic and print communications, company publications, media/press material, reports, and social media engagement.

Field inbound media requests, deliver key content, and screen media requests for value to the business.

Ensure activities related to SKILCRAFT licenses and permits are managed timely and accurately.

Provide oversight for compliance with applicable ISO requirements and assist in monitoring SOP status for accuracy and compliance.

Identify, prepare for, and manage issues as needed, including coordinating with departments to secure approval of media statements.

Work with the Vice President, Marketing and Communications to identify opportunities and define strategies to support them.

Provide strategic support and management of the organization\'s meetings and events, including national conferences.

Collaborate with the marketing/creative team to develop integrated campaigns for product and company initiatives.

Work with marketing and advertising staff to develop and implement the organization\'s marketing strategy and campaigns.

Maintain NIB brand guidelines and ensure packaging and graphics meet industry best practices and guidelines; engage with leadership to execute branding and design strategies.

Qualifications Education BA/BS degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or related field from a regionally accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.

Experience Ten plus years of hands-on communications and marketing experience preferred. 5+ years at a manager level directing the work of others or equivalent experience.

Travel 30% travel is expected.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of all public and media relations, social media, internal communications, video/podcast production, agency relations, editorial oversight for publications and corporate websites.
