is seeking an experienced
Senior Pension Consultant/Team Leader
to manage a portfolio of high-profile retirement plans while guiding a team member in delivering exceptional service. This role oversees all aspects of annual compliance, contribution calculations, government reporting, and client consulting. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong project management skills who can provide guidance on plan design, compliance requirements, and evolving legislation. As a key leader, you will mentor and supervise a team member, foster professional development, and drive process improvements. PLEASE NOTE:
This is a fully
remote
position and can be performed from anywhere within the United States; however, the selected candidate will need to accommodate an Eastern time schedule. Key Responsibilities
Independently manage 30-40 high-profile 401(k) and cross-tested plans. Provide oversight and support for an additional 70-80 plans managed by other team members. Serve as the primary client contact, delivering expert-level guidance on plan design, compliance, and strategic considerations. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, proactively advising clients on the impact to their plans. Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities
Perform all compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy, and 401(a)(4) nondiscrimination testing. Conduct advanced cross-testing to develop cost-efficient, compliant plan strategies. Oversee trust accounting to support accurate Form 5500 filings and financial reporting. Partner with auditors to prepare financial statements and Schedule H requirements.
Technology & Process Optimization
Leverage industry software, including ASC (compliance testing), DATAIR (government reporting), Relius (plan documents), and PensionPro (client management). Identify and implement technology-driven process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise, mentor, and train team members, providing guidance on compliance, client service, and best practices. Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture. Qualifications
10+ years of retirement plan administration experience in a TPA environment. Prior experience in peer review, supervision, or team leadership strongly preferred. Deep expertise in 401(k) compliance, contribution calculations, and nondiscrimination testing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills, including trust accounting for accrual-based financial reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a pro-active client-service orientation. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Familiarity with recordkeeping platforms and ability to pull data, run reports, and review plan settings. Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage workflow independently with limited oversight. Pay Transparency
The anticipated pay range for this position is
$85,000-$95,000
annually. Our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position across locations in the US. Individual pay is determined by geographic location, skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
