Urology is a procedural based, high acuity department. Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain efficiency and customer service while providing quality care. Serves as a technical nursing expert for the department, including ability to safely assist/perform highly skilled procedures with providers in office and autonomously per guidelines and written physician orders. Required Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED Preferred Qualifications
Other: Successful completion of LVN/LPN program 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area Ambulatory care experience ACLS Certification (PREFERRED) Vocational Nurse IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certification (PREFERRED) Essential Functions
Clinical Skills: Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area; administers medications safely and accurately per guidelines; assists with procedures; documents care per protocol; collaborates with physicians; supports front desk responsibilities as needed. Organizes And Completes Daily Requirements And Responsibilities: telephone management, patient flow, scheduling, and readiness of reports; responds to changing circumstances and prioritizes patient needs. Nursing Competencies, Quality Initiatives, Technical Skills, and Clinical Expertise: see detailed descriptions in the original posting; includes procedures such as uroflowmetry, bladder scan, catheterization, and in-office procedures with physicians. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) skills. Ability to prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures. Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition; collect samples and perform routine tests as needed.
