Wayne Health, previously Wayne State University Physician Group, is located in the heart of Detroit, MI. Wayne Health is a non-profit, multi-specialty academic group practice with over 400 dedicated physicians and advanced practice providers offering a full spectrum of care in 50 medical specialties. Gastroenterology at Wayne Health has been designated a Center of Excellence for the treatment of liver disease. They are actively recruiting a BE/BC Gastroenterologist to join a group of existing providers to care for the littlest of patients within the metro Detroit market. What to Expect / Key Responsibilities: Monday - Friday Schedule with inpatient rounding and consults as well as performing routine GI procedures. ECRP experience is highly preferred but not required. Shared call among 8 providers. Requirements: Board eligible/Certified GI Fellowship Trained Active MI Medical Licensure/Willingness to obtain Physicians, providers and researchers at Wayne Health are also faculty members of the Wayne State University School of Medicine who conduct research and clinical studies. This makes the latest treatments and clinical trials available to you sooner than other health providers without a medical school affiliation. We specialize in translational research that creates new therapies, medical procedures or diagnostic advancements. Major areas of research include: Chronic liver disease Parenteral/enteral nutrition Chronic viral hepatitis Colorectal cancer Inflammatory Bowel Disease Teaching opportunities are through Wayne State University for faculty appointments.
