Overview
MercyOne Iowa Heart Center is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a thriving, high-volume practice in Des Moines, Iowa. J1 and H1B are welcome. We aim to develop and grow a dedicated robotic thoracic program within one of the nation’s top cardiovascular centers. Responsibilities
Join a team of 4 surgeons and recruit a 5th for growth and innovation APP 1st Call with inpatient rounding and clinic support CSICU 24/7 Intensivist support Surgical case volume over 1,000 cases per year Opportunity to support and grow LVAD programs Be a pioneer in beating-heart surgery, robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, ECMO, VAD, TAVR and TEVAR Block time management with 4 CV ORs, 1 hybrid room, and Da Vinci Xi/Si systems EMR: EPIC General Surgery Residency Faculty involvement Opportunity Details

The center spans eight primary locations and 15 outreach facilities across Iowa and participates in STS Registries. More than 10,000 cardiac interventions are performed annually.
