Job Description We are seeking a VP of Product (Head of Product) to lead the charge in shaping the future of our product. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who thrives in fast paced, early stage environments and wants to play a hands-on role in finding product market fit and building a category defining solution in cybersecurity. As the senior product leader, you will be responsible for driving clarity in the face of ambiguity, designing the discovery process, guiding experimentation, and building conviction around where our solution delivers the most value. You will partner closely with the founder, engineering, and go to market teams to translate insights into a product strategy that unlocks adoption and sets the foundation for scale. This role is ideal for a product leader who blends cybersecurity expertise with an entrepreneurial drive, unafraid to get hands-on with the details while also shaping product market fit and guiding the development of our long-term product strategy. Responsibilities
Lead the search for product market fit : Design and drive a structured process to validate hypotheses, run experiments, and identify where the product creates the most value. Customer discovery & validation : Build deep relationships with early design partners, prospective customers, and industry experts to uncover critical pain points, test assumptions, and translate insights into clear product direction. Metrics & learning systems : Establish and define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess product success and drive continuous improvement, leveraging data to inform decision making. Rapid iteration & experimentation : Champion a lean, experimental approach, prioritizing speed of learning, fast feedback loops, and ruthless focus on evidence over assumptions. Go to market alignment : Partner with founders and the early sales / marketing team to craft positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies; ensure tight integration between product development and GTM efforts. Product strategy & vision : Define and refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company mission and the realities of the cybersecurity market. Cross functional leadership : Collaborate closely with engineering and design to translate insights into product decisions; balance innovation with execution discipline. Requirements
Experience in product management within some cybersecurity industry experience. Cybersecurity domain familiarity : Strong understanding of the cybersecurity landscape (products, buyers, ecosystem, compliance drivers); direct experience in B2B enterprise SaaS or security solutions preferred. Extra points for experience and understanding of industries facing significant fraud challenges (i.e. fintech, gaming, healthcare, travel). Proven experience finding product market fit : Demonstrated success leading product strategy at an early stage startup (ideally seed to Series B), with a track record of driving a product from concept to market adoption. Deep customer discovery expertise : Skilled in structuring and executing qualitative and quantitative research, running experiments, and distilling insights into actionable strategy. Exceptional communication & storytelling : Skilled at articulating product vision and insights to customers, internal teams, and investors. Hands-on product leadership : Comfortable rolling up sleeves to write product requirements, mock flows, run discovery calls, and work directly with engineers / designers while also thinking at the strategic level. Ideally, based in the Bay Area, but open to all Pacific time zone. What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
Validated product market fit hypotheses : You have led a disciplined discovery and experimentation process, clearly identifying which customer segment(s) and use cases the solution solves best. Customer traction & early design partners : You have established strong relationships with early adopters, secured design partners, and built a pipeline of engaged customers eager to pilot and give feedback. Clear product strategy & roadmap : The company has a well-defined product vision, strategy, and roadmap grounded in customer insights and market realities. Rapid learning & iteration system : The team is operating with a repeatable process for testing assumptions, capturing learnings, and adapting quickly. Go to market alignment : You have worked hand in hand with the founders and GTM team to shape messaging, positioning, and pricing that resonates with target buyers. Momentum toward revenue : The product has moved from concept to early adoption, showing tangible signals of commercial viability (e.g. pilots, LOIs, or early revenue). Foundation for scaling product : You have laid the groundwork for a product organization that can grow with clear practices, metrics, and early hires identified.
