Emergency Medicine Physician (Trauma I, II, III, IV & V) - Physician Services

Overview
Avant Tech is seeking five (5) full‑time, experienced Emergency Medicine Physicians to join the Trauma / Emergency Department teams at VA San Diego HCS. Physicians will be responsible for providing high level emergency care across all trauma levels (Trauma I through V), treating acute illnesses and injuries, stabilizing critical patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high quality patient outcomes. Proposal Submission Requirements
Documented proof of the following credentials/licenses/certifications: License, BLS, ACLS, Emergency Medicine Board Certification, NPI, DEA, OIG clearance. Letter of Commitment (LOC), signed by both the Offeror and all key personnel. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from accredited institution. Board Certification in Emergency Medicine. Valid, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S. (appropriate state). Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration. Proven clinical experience in high‑acuity emergency settings, including management of trauma (all levels), resuscitation, advanced airway management, etc. Excellent clinical decision‑making skills, ability to act rapidly in emergent situations. Strong team collaboration and communication skills. Desired Experience
Fellowship or specialized training in trauma or critical care. Prior experience working in a level I trauma center or similarly busy trauma / emergency department. Experience across multiple trauma levels (I‑V) is a plus. Experience with quality improvement initiatives, patient flow optimization, and systems‑based practice. Experience with supervising or teaching residents, fellows, or other learners. Familiarity with VA health care system / policies. Skills
Strong diagnostic & procedural skills (e.g., intubation, hemorrhage control, chest tubes, etc.) Ability to stabilize critically ill/injured patients Proficient in trauma care across levels I‑V Rapid decision‑making under pressure Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Accurate documentation and continuity of care Leadership or supervisory experience Experience mentoring or teaching Familiarity with VA protocols and electronic health records Exposure to performance metrics, QA / CQI processes Experience in disaster/mass casualty response Degree Requirements
Must hold MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Must have completed a residency in Emergency Medicine, or equivalent training recognized by VA. Certification Requirements
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, or equivalent). Valid, unrestricted medical license. BLS and ACLS current. NPI, DEA registration. OIG clearance. Benefits
