About the Role We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect specializing in Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) solutions with integrated billing, rating usage management, and revenue recognition capabilities. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead throughout the entire pre-sales and into the implementation lifecycle, bridging the gap between our clients' business requirements and our technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Sales Support

Partner with sales teams to understand client needs and articulate technical value propositions

Conduct technical discovery sessions and needs assessments with prospective clients

Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations tailored to specific client use cases

Respond to technical RFPs and participate in client-facing technical presentations

Create solution prototypes to validate concepts and showcase capabilities

Technical Win Securing

Architect CPQ solutions that address clients' complex pricing, bundling quoting, and revenue management requirements

Develop technical proposals that clearly articulate solution capabilities, integration points, and technical advantages

Address technical objections and provide expert guidance on implementation approaches

Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning strategies for competitive situations

Solution Scoping & Statement of Work Development

Define comprehensive solution scope based on client requirements

Identify necessary customizations, integrations, and special configurations

Estimate implementation effort, timeline, and resource requirements

Document technical assumptions, limitations, and prerequisites

Create detailed statements of work with clearly defined deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria

Present and negotiate SOWs with client stakeholders to secure signatures

Solution Design & Implementation Planning

Conduct thorough discovery sessions to gather detailed requirements for implementation

Map client business processes to system capabilities

Design end-to-end solutions encompassing CPQ, rating, billing, usage, and revenue recognition

Create solution design documents detailing system architecture, data models, integration approaches, and customizations

Serve as a technical and functional mentor for junior CPQ team members, guiding them through solution design, configuration, and integration best practices

Foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing, providing structured training, shadowing opportunities, and constructive feedback to accelerate junior resource growth

Balance delivery excellence with enablement, ensuring projects are executed on time and to a high standard while creating space for junior contributors to own meaningful workstreams

Act as a sounding board and escalation point, empowering junior team members to troubleshoot and propose solutions before stepping in with direct guidance

Document best practices, patterns, and lessons learned in reusable assets to support the professional development of team members and the long-term scalability of the practice

Champion continuous improvement, helping junior resources identify and pursue certifications, training paths, and stretch assignments aligned to their growth trajectory

Qualifications Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of experience as a Solution Architect for CPQ, billing or revenue management systems

Proven experience designing and implementing integrations between CRM, CPQ, Billing, and ERP systems

Proven track record of pre-sales technical support and securing technical wins

Experience creating detailed statements of work and solution design documents

Strong understanding of enterprise software integration patterns

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Polished presentation skills and confident client-facing presence

Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and adapting to changing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with ASC 606/IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards

Experience with cloud architectures and API-based integrations

Background in financial systems or ERP implementations

Relevant certifications (e.g., Salesforce CPQ Specialist, Oracle CPQ Cloud Implementation Specialist)

Compensation

The compensation band for this role is $135,000–$175,000 USD annually for candidates based in the United States and $140,000-$160,000 CAD annually for candidates based in Canada. Final compensation will depend on skills, experience, and internal pay equity. Slight variation by location reflects market conditions.
