Cognitive Neurologist

to join our team at Tufts Medical Center. In collaboration with our greater team of Neurologists within the Department, you will: Offer a high level of expertise to patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other mild cognitive impairments Contribute to the development of our comprehensive Memory Care Center. This program, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, integrates clinical care and research and provides treatment of individuals with neurocognitive disorders through an interdisciplinary memory clinic and Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Program Support the expansion of these services across Tufts Medical Center and New England Neurological Associates

Department of Neurology Overview

Integrated Healthcare:

Tufts Medical Center, with over 700 affiliated doctors, is part of the Tufts Medicine Health System, including Lowell General Hospital, MelroseWakefield Hospital, Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, Tufts Medicine Care at Home, Tufts Medicine Community Care, and Tufts Medicine Integrated Network. TMC Neurology is a dynamic, collegial team with outpatient and inpatient services, spanning a broad catchment area and anchored by academic and community practices. The department leads centers of excellence including the Memory Care Center, a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a NAEC Level 4 Epilepsy Center. Subspecialties include Cognitive Neurology, Critical Care Neurology, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology, Neuromuscular, Neuro-Oncology, and Vascular Neurology. Research Based:

The department participates in NIH- and industry-sponsored projects and investigator-initiated research. We have two full-time Neurology clinical research coordinators for IRB, trial, and registry support. Education:

Our faculty are full-time academic staff at Tufts University School of Medicine, with involvement in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows (currently in vascular neurology and neurocritical care). Nationally Recognized:

Our staff are leaders in advancing neurology diagnosis and treatment, with many clinicians recognized as “Best of Boston.”

Responsibilities

Transforming patient care:

Provide care on the following services: TMC Neurology Boston clinic and TMC Neurology Framingham clinic (if desired). Teamwork:

Work with multidisciplinary partners and accomplished clinicians treating neurological diseases and training upcoming neurologists. Additional opportunities:

Participate in research, provide didactics to trainees, develop and modify institutional guidelines and policies, and participate in hospital-wide committees.

Requirements

BC/BE in Neurology and certified in Behavioral Neurology Neurocognitive Disorders, with the ability to obtain a Massachusetts medical license. We seek a diverse faculty that reflects the diverse community of patients served by our institution.

Compensation

Tufts Medicine offers a competitive salary commensurate with academic training and practice experience. A Tufts University School of Medicine appointment will be offered commensurate with academic qualifications.
