Position Description
The Resident Care Director is responsible for managing, directing and developing a comprehensive care program for all residents of the community, which may include traditional Assisted Living residents and residents in specialized Alzheimer's and Dementia care households. This role serves as a liaison with family members, community agencies and care providers. The Resident Care Director will identify and develop programs to meet psychosocial and quality of life needs, and foster an environment that supports residents’ individuality, independence, dignity and overall well-being.
Duties:
Manage wellness budget
Direct, plan, and coordinate services and activities of professional nursing in resident care
Monitor resident quality of care on a daily basis
On-call responsibilities as scheduled to ensure adequate back-up for personal care staff
Establish systems for care management, including assessments, care planning and discharge planning
Interpret policy and regulations to nursing personnel and ensure compliance with care, admissions, staffing, training, policy and documentation
Qualifications
RN or LPN with current Massachusetts license; two or more years of supervisory/management experience preferred
May consider other licensed medical professionals with strong management experience
Experience in an Assisted Living facility is preferred
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, peers and staff
Ability to adapt to new or changing situations and stress
Leadership and supervisory ability with excellent communication skills
Strong organizational management, coaching, budgeting and strategic objective setting
English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, understanding)
What Are We Looking For?
Skills in communication, assessment, program development and facilitation of specialized social programs
RN or LPN with current Massachusetts license and 2+ years of supervision/management experience
Knowledge of and experience with programs for persons with dementia
Ability to meet general health requirements as per organizational policy
Develop continuing educational programs/plans for all staff in assigned areas
Self-motivated, positive with excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods; occasional bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
Note: Scale based on years of experience with pay in lieu of benefits option available.
